This morning at approximately 1:25 a.m. the Colorado Springs Police Department was notified of a possible shooting victim that was knocking on the doors of the Bear Creek Lanes at 1232 S. 21st St.

Upon arrival, it was determined that this person had been shot multiple time and he was transported to Penrose Main Hospital. He was immediately taken into surgery. This victim is described as a 20 year old Hispanic male from Colorado Springs.

He informed officers that another person had also possibly been shot somewhere near the area of S. 21st St. and Lower Gold Camp Road. The area was checked and a second victim was located just south of the roadway on Lower Gold Camp Road, approximately ¼ mile west of S. 21st St. This victim was deceased and also appeared to have been shot more than once.

Multiple shell casings were located in close proximity to this second victim, indicating that the shooting possibly occurred at this location.

The investigation has also determined that the two victims had last been seen in a White 2001 Mitsubishi 4 door vehicle with Colorado License 855GVD.

That vehicle is now missing and the Colorado Springs Police Department is asking anyone who either observes the vehicle or has information as to where the vehicle may be to contact the Police Department immediately at 444-7000. It has been determined that this vehicle belongs to the victim at Penrose Main Hospital.

No suspects are in custody at this time. Anyone having information concerning this shooting is asked to contact either the Colorado Springs Police Department at 444-7000 or they may remain anonymous and call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP. Anyone calling Crime Stoppers and providing information that leads to an arrest in this case could earn a cash reward of up to $1,000.

An autopsy will be conducted by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office on Wednesday to determine manner and cause of death.
