Monday brought periods of heavy rainfall to much of Southern Colorado. By mid afternoon, there were reports of widespread street flooding in parts of Colorado Springs---especially along the Powers corridor.

One boy was shaken up, but unhurt, when he was swept through a culvert near N. Carefree and Powers. The boy was pushed about two blocks downstream, until he was able to get out of the rushing water.

In the Hayman burn area, residents are once again keeping an eye out for flash flooding. Over the weekend, Highway 67 was closed due to a mudslide in Douglas County.
