Ski resorts in Colorado may be considering borrowing technology already in use in Massachusetts to go “green”, and cut energy costs.
The Jiminy Peak Ski Resort in Hancock, Massachusetts has a 400-foot high wind turbine. It’s cut the resort’s electricity costs by more than $200,000 in the first full year of operation.
The turbine cost $4 million dollars to construct.
Leaders of the National Ski Areas Association say many resorts are looking into wind power, including resorts in Aspen.
