Three Roman-Catholic nuns have been sentenced to prison terms for a protest at a missile silo near greeley.

The three women were found guilty of obstructing national defense and damaging government property. Each of the women was sentenced to between 30 and 41months.

A prosecutor asked a federal judge in Denver to order prison sentences for the nuns, because all three had long histories of arrests.

The charges and sentencing stem from an incident when the nuns hit the missile silo with hammers and used their blood to paint a cross on it.
