A fast-moving thunderstorm on Friday afternoon proved dangerous in northern El Paso County.
According to a sheriff's deputy, around 3 p.m., three young people were riding in a golf cart on a path at the Gleneagle Country Club. They were apparently lifeguards at the club.
A witness who lives nearby tells 11 News, the bolt struck and, at first, it appeared no one was hurt. The cart continued on for about 500 yards down the path. But then one of the cart's occupants, a young woman, suddenly slumped over.
The witness rushed over and began administering CPR. The deputy, who was also driving nearby, also came in to help. The two continued CPR for about 8 minutes until paramedics arrived. At that time, the victim did have a pulse.
