Three suspects accused of burglarizing homes in the Security-Widefield area are in custody, but a fourth is still at large.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says they’re looking for Mason Nathaniel Simmons, 20, of Fountain. He is considered to be armed and dangerous, and anyone who sees him is advised to stay away.
Simmons is charged with possession of weapon by a previous offender, second-degree burglary, theft exceeding $20,000, and conspiracy to commit second-degree burglary.
Three of the other alleged conspirators are already in custody. They are Jacob Barnes, 22, of Colorado Springs; Kullen Falconer, 20, of Fountain; and a 17-year-old female from Colorado Springs.
One of the victims, who did not want to be identified, told 11 News the suspects were seen going door to door with brochures in her neighborhood before the burglaries. She thinks they were trying to pick out houses where no one was home to select their targets.
Together, the four are accused of stealing several electronic items, jewelry, and firearms from two homes in the 5000 block of Hicks Drive on January 23.
Simmons, the suspect still at-large, is described as a black male, 6-foot-3 and 280 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone who knows where he is should call the Sheriff’s Office at 390-5555.
