Nicholas Rodriguez, Robert Manzanares and Joseph Martinez
A trio of crooks allegedly took about $500,000 worth of products from a company that distributes to King Soopers grocery stores throughout our region. Fountain Police say the thefts occurred over about one year and many of the items were sold on the internet.
Police have arrested three people for the thefts from Advantage Logistsics, located at Charter Oak Ranch Road in the City of Fountain.
They say Robert Manzanares, 37, and Nicholas Rodriguez, 31, worked at Advantage Logistics and are accused of working together to steal the items. According to court documents, Rodriguez would take the items and put them on the loading dock and Manzanares would pick them up and ship them to the third suspect. The third suspect, 31-year-old Michael Joseph Martinez, is accused of selling the items on EBay.
According to court documents, the stolen items included cases of weight loss pills, tooth-whiting strips, cosmetics and stop-smoking aids.
Fountain Police say that the suspects made $200,000 from selling the stolen products.
Since the investigation began on October 27, Fountain, Pueblo and Colorado Springs police have served nine search warrants. They say the investigation is continuing, however, and more arrests are possible.
