A rock slide on Interstate 70 in De Beque Canyon has killed a woman in a semitrailer and shut down the eastbound lanes of the highway 25 miles east of Grand Junction.
Mindy Crane of the Colorado Department of Transportation said crews would have the westbound lane configured by this evening for traffic in both directions.
Work clearing the area could take several days.
The slide occurred late last night about six miles west of De Beque, about 185 miles west of Denver.
The victim's name was not released.
Traffic was being rerouted around the area in the meantime.
