Weight Loss Journey

David Olson is inching his way to losing 275 pounds. We've been following his weight loss journey for the past 6 months. Olson is losing weight the old fashioned way, through diet and exercise. He's been on the program for less than 9 months and you won't believe how much he's shed.

When he started the program, Olson tipped the scales at 574 pounds. Now, he's lost 104 pounds. "I'll have to go shopping to get new belt," Olson laughed. He's also trimmed off nearly 20 inches off of his waist so far.

Olson goes to the Metabolic Research Center where they teach him just how to eat. He's allowed 3 meals a day along with snacks. Lisa McCarty with Metabolic Research said, “A typical lunch is chicken salad, apple. For dinner, they can have steak with bread and cooked veggies."

Olson said he's learned a new way of living, but there are still times of temptation. "Cravings… I’ve taken time to realize it's emotional." But, what really keeps him on track is taking a look in the mirror. After losing 104 pounds, he's started getting compliments and confidence. Even we can see a difference. He's shaved his head and turned in his glasses for contacts.

A newer David Olson is inching his way to a new outlook on life. "I'm doing this for my family and myself, but to start losing the feeling of people are laughing behind back, well, it feels good."

Olson hopes his story motivates others to get healthy. We'll continue to weigh in with him to see how he's doing.
