A man has been arrested in Colorado Springs for allegedly using hidden video cameras to tape women renting rooms in his home.
Randall Smith, age 61, was arrested Saturday on charges of misdemeanor unlawful sexual contact. Authorities said two women, ages 25 and 36, called for help after noticing a video camera in the garage of the home included footage of their bedrooms. A search of the house turned up several more tapes of female tenants as they dressed and undressed, police said.
Smith allegedly rigged fake electrical outlets where he hid cameras and put a mirror in a heating duct to reflect a view of the bathroom toward a camera.
"We do believe that there are some other victims who have been previous tenant, so we are asking anybody if they had rented out 15 Penrose Boulevard in the last year or so to contact our sex crimes unit," said Lt. Skip Arms of the Colorado Springs Police Department.
The number for the CSPD Sex Crimes Unit is 444-7540
