Forty-four people have been indicted, twenty-seven of them have been arrested. The indictments are part of security operations to protect Colorado's critical infrastructure.

Until recently, most military installations in Colorado relied on their civilian contractors to determine the proper identiy of their military installation. In the aftermath of September 11, and heightened security concerns, military installations have been urged to set up new procedures. The Air Force Academy is among the first Department of Defense organizations in the state to set up an effective system.

More than a hundred employees where arrested last September at Denver International Airport, following a similar investigation.
