Colorado Springs police say a masked man robbed two convenience stores early Wednesday morning and his weapon of choice was a sword.

Police say the first robbery happened at the 7-Eleven off North Spruce near Bijou and I-25 and the second robbery at the 7-Eleven off North Union near the Patty Jewitt Golf Course.

Police say it would be very rare for two separate crooks to rob two different stores with a sword and witnesses described the same sword in both robberies. Police describe the sword as a Star Trek Klingon type sword, specifically a "Batleth."

At the first 7-Eleven police say the suspect got away with an unknown amount of money and the second robbery the suspect got away empty-handed.

Police say no one was injured in either incidence. Witnesses describe the suspect as a white man in his twenties wearing a black jacket.
