Denver Mayor Wellington Webb and celebrity attorney Johnnie Cochran were among hundreds of mourners Saturday afternoon at the funeral for a 15 year old mentally disabled boy who was shot by police last week.

Paul Childs died last Saturday of a police inflicted gunshot wound, after authorities say Childs refused an order to drop a knife.

Childs' family says the boy was developmentally disabled. And, they say Officer James Tourney, who fired the fatal shot, should not have been on the street after being involved in the shooting death of a hearing impaired man last year.

Johnnie Cochran, best known for representing, and gaining an aqittal for O.J. Simpson in his murder trial, has been hired to represent the Childs family.

Officer Turney is on paid administrative leave on what officials say is an unrelated matter.
