Public Hearing into AFA Scandal

By: Associated Press

The former superintendent of the Air Force Academy says the school's program to deal with sexual assaults was considered an exemplary model by other universities.

Major General John Dallager testified during a public hearing
Friday morning at Colorado Springs City Hall. He was still wearing three stars, even though Air Force Secretary James Roche (roach) demoted him Thursday from the rank of Lieutenant General.

Dallager says he's disappointed, but respects Roche's decision.

Dallager told the panel he believes everyone at the academy did their best with the information they had to ensure cadets' safety. He was removed as superintendent in March after dozens of female cadets claimed they were assaulted by male cadets and sometimes punished for reporting the attacks.
