A Colorado Springs man is dead after lightning struck him twice on a 12-thousand-foot high mountain in Wyoming.

Authorities identified the victim as 20-year-old Ryan Sayers.

A fellow rock climber, 24-year-old Katrin Birmann of Munich,
Germany, survived the strikes on Monday.

The two were climbing Steeple Peak in the Wind River Range in
west-central Wyoming when the first lightning strike hit them near
the peak about three p-m.

They decided to sit out the storm, but another lightning
strike hit them an hour later.

The second strike sent Sayers tumbling 300 feet into a ravine.

A rescue team recovered his body Tuesday.
