A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. What's left of Hurricane John is dumping lots of rain in the Southwest.
The storm left up to 20 inches of rain in parts of Mexico's Baja Peninsula before leaving a soggy trail across southern Arizona, New Mexico and western Texas.
In Ciudad Juarez, Mexico -- across the border from El Paso -- rain flooded at least 20 neighborhoods, knocked down electricity poles and caused several traffic accidents. Flooding forced hundreds of people to be evacuated.
