Ski Resorts Going Green

By  |

Aspen Skiing Company has joined a lawsuit to stop global warming. Vail Resorts recently made a record-setting wind-energy buy. The Wolf Creek Ski Area has committed itself to renewable energy.

The moves make marketing sense -- they appeal to the people the resorts cater to. But observers say they also make sense because ski resorts are concerned about environmental threats to their business.

Vail Resorts chief executive Rob Katz says the company has decided to be more vocal about its environmental efforts. He says it's the right thing to do and hopefully will help expand business.
