Despite the Labor Day holiday, nearly 2,000 Colorado College students headed back to the classrooms Monday. That number includes about 500 incoming freshman.
College officials say the incoming students make up one of the most talented and diverse classes the school has ever seen, with nearly a quarter of them high school valedictorians, or ranked in the top one percent of their classes. Almost half of the new freshman speak a foreign language, and three were Junior Olympians.
