Outdoor sports stores in Colorado are now receiving their first
shipments of personal locator beacons.

Adventurers can simply touch a button if they ever get lost in
the outdoors. A string of U.S. and Russian satellites will then pick
up their exact location.

Officials say the beacons have advanced global positioning
features, reducing a search that would normally take several days
to just a few hours.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration oversees the
program.

The personal locators carry a price tag of $500 to $800.
