According to the City Of Woodland Park, the State Department of Health is issuing a boil order for drinking and cooking water. That's after a major water main break Wednesday morning.

Anyone who experienced low water pressure or no water Thursday morning is being asked to boil your drinking and cooking water for at least 3 minutes.

Woodland Park School District had a two-hour delay Wednesday until water was restored but they have decided to cancel school all together for Thursday due to the boil order.

Woodland Park is notifying people by reverse 911 and door to door notifications. They say that this morning's water main break was so significant and it drained the line so quickly that the water supply could have been tainted.

Chlorine tests have been done around the community and all have turned out fine, but the boil order is an extra precaution. The boil order is in effect until further notice.

Woodland Park police say that most of the water is back on after an extensive water outage throughout the city from east to west.

Utilities crews say the outage was caused by a 12-inch water main break around 3 a.m. Most customers had water restored by 8:30 a.m. but about a dozen are still without water.

Woodland Park Utilities says about half of Woodland Park, 3500 customers, were affected by the outage.

Crews are working on the side of Highway 24 to restore the water to a few customers still without it.

Drivers are also being cautioned of the resulting ice on Highway 24 from Wal-Mart to McDonald's due to the freezing water. One westbound lane of Highway 24 is closed.
