San Juan County searchers are still looking for a six-year-old Minnesota boy, swept into a culvert while climbing near a waterfall.

The accident happened late Wednesday afternoon about three miles
west of Silverton.

Sheriff's dispatcher Melody Skinner says the boy fell a short distance into a deep pool at the base of the waterfall.

The pool flows into a culvert that goes under a U-S Forest Service road into
the South Mineral Creek.

It eventually flows into the Animas River.

The boy's family was camping in the area and saw him fall. Divers were unable to reach the bottom of the pool last night.

The boy's name and hometown have not been released.
