Denver Broncos tight end Dwayne Carswell was being held Saturday at an Atlanta jail following his arrest on a domestic violence charge.

Officials say the 6' 3", 260 lb. Carswell was arrested Friday and charged with simple battery, domestic violence, and obstruction of an officer.

The circumstances of the arrest are not yet available.

Carswell has faced two similar charges before, one in 2001 and one in 1998. Plea agreements were reached in both cases.

Carswell was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2001, when he had 49
receptions for 495 yards. He has also served as a backup to Shannon
Sharpe when he has been injured.
