Officials in Denver say a six-member city crew is responsible for inspecting about 48-hundred elevators and escalators in Denver each year -- including the one that malfunctioned and injured 32 people at Coors Field this week.
Dozens of people were hurled screaming toward the bottom of the three-story escalator after Wednesday night's Colorado Rockies game. Witnesses say the escalator suddenly sped up but city and team officials said they hadn't determined what happened or why.
The investigation was at a standstill over the weekend. Rockies spokesman Jay Alves says the escalator investigation will resume on Monday.
