CAPITOL HILL (AP) -- A day after Donald Rumsfeld compared administration detractors to those who sought to appease Hitler, the House Democratic Leader is invoking her own World War Two comparison.
Nancy Pelosi says she wants Rumsfeld to explain why U-S forces have been fighting in Iraq longer than it took American forces to defeat the Nazis.
And the top Democrat on the House Armed Services panel, Ike Skelton, says Rumsfeld is engaging in a "dangerous business" by vilifying those who disagree with him.
Rumsfeld also told the American Legion yesterday that administration critics suffer from "moral confusion."
Senate Armed Services member Jack Reed says Rumsfeld is "substituting sloganing for strategy."
