Nearly 40 percent of Colorado residents believe the quality of life in the state is slipping, according to an annual survey.
But just 29 percent of residents think Colorado's quality of life is improving. That's the biggest difference in the “Mind of Colorado” survey's nine-year history.
Results of the annual survey were released Wednesday. They show residents rate the state's quality of life at 7.7, with ten being a perfect score.
Coloradans are most worried about the economy and the drought.
The survey found most people prefer spending cuts to higher taxes. But six in ten people would prefer a temporary tax increase over cuts in service.
The University of Colorado-Denver's Graduate School of Public Affairs surveyed 743 registered voters for the report.
The survey has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 3.7 percentage points.
