A rollover accident early yesterday morning claimed the life of a Pueblo County high school senior.

The 18-year-old driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, and was not wearing a seat belt.

The accident happened on I-25 about 6 miles north of Pueblo.

On Monday, Craig Thalhamer's close friends gathered around his demolition derby car in the high school parking lot.

They say they will all remember him as being a popular, funny and kind boy, who had big dreams of moving to Las Vegas after graduation.

"He's going to be missed by all of us, and I just love him very much and he'll always be in our hearts," says Joey Musso, Craig's best friend.

The 17-year-old passenger in the car was also not wearing his seat belt, but luckily he is recovering well at home.

A memorial is scheduled for Craig this Saturday.
