Two people are reportedly dead after two car crashes 15-miles apart in El Paso County. The Sheriff's Office says both crashes are connected.

Authorities say a man driving West on Peyton Hwy. t-boned a car going South on Highway 94. That intersection is a 2-way stop. Authorities say the man who t-boned the car did not stop at his stop sign.

It reportedly happened around 6:15 p.m. Sunday night.

It is believed that the car that was t-boned had a family of four inside. The driver of the car that was t-boned was pronounced dead at the crash scene. Authorities say the two children inside that car were life flighted to the hospital and the fourth passenger in that car was taken to the hospital via ambulance.

Authorities say a good Samaritan stopped to help. That's when the suspect who ran the stop sign jumped into the good Samaritan's car and took off. He drove roughly 15-miles before crashing near Old Pueblo Rd. and Hanover Rd. Authorities believe he died at the scene. It's still unclear if there were any other passengers in the car that was stolen.

Authorities are still trying to piece together exactly what happened.
