The Colorado State Patrol says a Miami woman faces charges including driving under the influence after a crash that seriously injured a state trooper.

Troopers said Saturday that 42-year-old Brenda Gervais-Moreno was being held without bond on suspicion of DUI, vehicular assault, disregarding a stop sign, driving without proof of insurance or a valid driver's license, and possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

The State Patrol says 32-year-old Trooper Kirk Firko was northbound in Jefferson County on Friday night when his patrol vehicle collided with a westbound Buick that failed to stop at a stop sign. Firko was treated at a hospital and released.

Troopers say Gervais-Moreno wasn't injured.
