Students at the historic Day Nursery got a musical treat Tuesday, courtesy of the radio station KCME.
Station host Michael Campion took KCME's "Classics for Kids" program to the center on East Rio Grande to answer the question, "What is classical music?"
Campion, accompanied by a pianist, flautist and vocalist, performed for students between the ages of 5 and 14. They taught the lessons by performing live musical examples, as well as through stories and dance. One of the pieces performed was Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor.
The program is celebrating its one-year anniversary this week. It's served 2,697 children in Pikes Peak region schools.
