A 7-year-old had to take a trip to the emergency room after playing with the toy he got for Christmas. The toy is called a Bakugan.
Wesley Dennison was playing with his when a spring from the toy got lodged into his thumb.
"You couldn't just pull it out, it was hooked in there," said his mom, Dawn Dennison.
It took a trip to the emergency room to get it removed.
"What they ended up having to do was numb his finger so that they could see how it was connected to his thumb," Dawn said.
Then Dawn says they had to actually cut it off and take x-rays to make sure no pieces of the toy were left in his thumb.
"I'm kind of leery to let him play with them, don't want to end up in the emergency room again," Dawn said.
And now she wants to warn other parents, so it doesn't it happen to any other kids.
11 News contacted the company that makes Bakugans, Spin Master. A spokesperson told us this is the first report they've received, they do rigorous testing on all their toys and will be investigating this case to find out what may have gone wrong.
