The Department of Corrections says more jobs are being salvaged even as July 1st approaches. That's when 150 correctional workers were supposed to be out of work.

Corrections spokeswoman Alison Morgan says word went out this
week to 51 correctional officers around the state that they will be able to keep their jobs. That's in addition to 32 jobs salvaged two weeks ago.

Morgan says the department has continued to calculate the cost savings of many officers who are choosing early retirement.
