Columbine Victim Lawsuit

The parents of a Columbine High School victim are suing a former sheriff's deputy who told them a SWAT team member shot their son.

High school student Daniel Rohrbough was among 13 people killed at Columbine in the 1999 school shootings before the two teen gunmen killed themselves.

Daniel's parents pressed for an investigation into their son's death, after former deputy Jim Taylor told them a SWAT officer shot him. An independent review later said the teen gunmen fired the shots.

Taylor said in court Friday that he could not explain why he told the Rohrbough's a SWAT officer on the scene shot Daniel. The boy's parents allege that Taylor's false statements constituted defamation and outrageous conduct.

Taylor's lawyers are arguing that he has governmental immunity.
