Colorado Springs is on Cold Accident Reporting, which means if you are involved in a crash where there are no injuries and alcohol is not suspected you do not have to call police. Instead, you can go to the Public Safety link on the city intranet at (www.springsgov.com) under Public Safety, Police Department, then to forms and documents to obtain cold reporting documents. You can also click on the link below to obtain this form.

Drivers can also go into one of the four police department divisions to fill out a cold accident report.

Crashes that fall under this category must be reported within 72 hours.

Colorado Springs street crews are also on a level one call-out. A Level One, Full Callout covers 45 designated snow routes, comprised of approximately 2,200 lane miles of the city street system. These primary and secondary routes include all major roads, as well as streets leading to hospitals, schools, major places of employment, and key collector streets entering residential areas. During this event, city crews will be applying anti-skid material and/or salt, and plowing these routes.
