The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle head-on crash resulting in three fatalities on Colo. 50 approximately 18.4 miles east of Pueblo, CO, on Saturday.

A 2005 Cadillac Escalade, driven by Miguel Reyes, 18, of Lamar, CO, was traveling eastbound on Colo. 50 when he failed to negotiate a slight curve to the right, crossed the double yellow centerline, entered the westbound lanes of travel and collided head-on with a 1998 GMC pickup, driven by Mrs. Darla R. Jackson, 47, of Kim, CO, which was traveling westbound in the right hand lane of Colo. 50.
After the impact, the Cadillac Escalade rotated counterclockwise and came to rest in the middle of the westbound lanes facing northwest. The GMC rotated counterclockwise and came to rest partially on the north shoulder of Colo. 50 facing east. Both vehicles were equipped with inflatable device, which deployed. Mr. Reyes was not wearing a seat belt but both Mrs. Jackson and her front seat passenger, identified as Mr. Lon Jackson, 46, also of Kim, CO, were.
At approximately 1425 hours, Pueblo County Deputy Coroner David Santos pronounced Mr. Reyes, Mrs. Jackson and Mr. Jackson deceased at the scene. Pending toxicology results, alcohol/drug involvement is unknown. This crash remains under investigation.
