The new Colorado Springs Philharmonic has the got a financial boost from four foundations, which have pledged to donate 350-thousand dollars.

To get the money, musicians have until October 31 to receive a dollar from the foundation to every two raised by the group.

The foundations are El Pomar, Bee Vradenburg, Joseph Henry Edmondson and the Pikes Peak Community foundations.

The philharmonic was formed in the spring by musicians who played with the Colorado Springs Symphony, which filed for bankruptcy in March. The 75-year-old orchestra, which was about a
million dollars in debt, was dissolved.
