A major funding commitment has been made to the newly-formed Colorado Springs Philharmonic Orchestra.
Four local organizations are offering a $325,000 grant to the organization. They are the El Pomar Foundation, the Bee Vradenburg Foundation, the Joseph Henry Edmondson Foundation and the Pikes Peak Community Foundation.
The money is part of a "2 to 1" challenge: the orchestra must raise $2 to receive $1 from the donor groups. The deadline to meet that challenge is Oct. 31.
Tax-deductible gifts to the Philharmonic may be sent to:
Colorado Springs Philharmonic
P.O. Box 60730
Colorado Springs, CO 80960.
Checks should be made out to the Colorado Springs Philharmonic/PPCF (the Pikes Peak Community Foundation).
