The Air Force Academy says reports of sexual assault aren't confidential, and experts say that will discourage victims from coming forward.
The Denver Post obtained an internal academy memo that says therapists are now required to report a sexual assault, while diagnosis and treatment information is still generally confidential.
In the past, cadets received some confidentiality via hot line phone calls to fellow cadets working with the academy's counseling center.
Directors of a Colorado Springs rape crisis center say the
policy is a tragedy.
The academy is under scrutiny after dozens of female cadets said they were reprimanded or ostracized for reporting sexual assaults.
The top officers have been reassigned and the academy is facing four investigations
