I've not lived here 5 years, and there has been such an increase in crime and more violent crime resulting in death. sad that this unique mountain town has come to this. very sad.

Has the question been asked if this incident is related to the murder in Stetson Hills while the man was shoveling snow? It would seem that a person would try to prevent these thugs from entering ones home and the Stetson Hills man may have died trying to protect his family. We need more law enforcement on the streets working the small crimes which will result in a reduction in larger crimes..It worked in NY.

You have to wonder if there is any conncetion between crimes like this, the increased breeakins in the southwest, and the heroin ( and certainly other drugs) problem at CMHS. Maybe if they would prosecute all those involved, and remove them from our school communities, we could see some decrease in crimes like robbery and buglary.

wtf?!?!?!? I've lived here my entire life and have never heard of anything like this happening here before. It probably has to do with new military recruits and the loosening of minimum requirements to meet recruiting goals for the "war." There used to be a time when the military was respectable.
