Fort Carson officials now confirm that in just this week alone four of their own have been casualties of war.

The name of a Fort Carson soldier who drowned Tuesday after diving into an aqueduct near the city of Kirkuk has not yet been released.

On Tuesday, two other Fort Carson soldiers were killed while on guard near the city of Fallujah when a firefight broke out. Staff Sergeant Michael Quinn of Tampa Florida was killed.

In that same fight, Sergeant Thomas Broomhead of Canon City was also killed. Fort Carson is planning memorial services for both soldiers next week.

In addition, Major Mathew Schram will be remembered in services tomorrow at Fort Carson. He was killed in an ambush in northern Iraq Monday.
