With the holiday season, comes lots of mail. All from cards to letters to packages. Many, shipped all over the world, and many going to our troops overseas.
The U.S. Postal Service wants all of us to know, today is the deadline if you want to send something to your loved one fighting the war overseas, or if you simply want to wish some of our troops happy holidays.
The postal service uses today's deadline as a way of making sure your package, or card or whatever you're sending to our troops makes it there in time.
Today's deadline involves military destinations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa, Central America and South America.
Thursday, Dec 11, is the deadline for shipping to other military destinations worldwide, including Europe, Asia, Canada and Mexico.
If you can’t make it to the post office for these deadlines, USPS says you’re taking a chance, but crews will try their best to get your package to our troops by the holidays.
