When you meet Lisa Waltman, you know she's all about her dogs. Now, she's turning that love into a non-profit.

"I want to fill these shelves and space here,” Waltman said as she looked around her garage. She hopes to open a pet pantry, a food bank for man's best friend, out of her own home.

"It’s called Molly Hubbard Cupboard named after my dog, Molly and the nursery rhyme, ‘Old Mother Hubbard’. Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard to give the poor dog a bone. When she came there, the cupboard was bare and so the poor dog had none.”

Waltman dropped off donation boxes at the local First Banks. She’s hoping she can collect enough dog and cat food to fill up her shelves. "I'd love to have 2,000 pounds on hand at all times."

"There are a lot of dogs and cats with no food. Some have to choose between feedings their kids and their pets. The pets will lose. It's understandable, but we want to help with that," said Waltman.

She is already taking donations and plans to help out those in need starting December 19th.

This is a great thing you are doing. There are soup kitchens for al those lazy people out there who don't want to work, but no one cares about the animals who have no way to feed themselves???? You are a blessing to all those pets who had people and were just deserted. Bless you and have a merry xmas from Moo-Moo, Sara Belle, Bossier, Pee-Wee and Salem.
