Colorado Springs Police say they have arrested 29-year-old Jason Howard Angel. He is now in police custody. Police say they made the arrest at the 7-11 on Union and Platte. Police were in the area searching for Angel when they spotted him at the convenience store.
Authorities say 28-year-old Elizabeth Angel was also arrested at the 7-Eleven store. The relationship is unknown at this time. Police have not released her charges as of yet.

Police say Angel was believed to be armed and dangerous. They spent most of the afternoon looking for him after he reportedly shot at two people inside a car.

Police say Angel fired at least five times with a hand gun at a male and a female inside of a car in the parking lot of an automotive painting business on Platte Avenue.

Police say Angel then fled into the apartment building at 2231 E. Platte Avenue. It was later determined that Angel lived in apartment “D”.

The victims in the vehicle were not struck during the shooting, and no injuries were reported.

Officers set up containment around the building, and the Colorado Springs Police Department Tactical Enforcement Unit was summoned to search the building, and eventually apartment “D”.

The building was evacuated and searched. Subsequent to the search, officers introduced gas into apartment “D”, and forcibly entered at approximately 4:10 PM finding the apartment empty.

As a result of this incident, there is an active warrant for the arrest of Jason Angel for the crime of Attempted First Degree Murder. He is described as a white male, 6’03” and 230 lbs. Angel should be considered armed and dangerous. If anyone has information about his whereabouts, they should contact the CSPD at (719) 444-7000, or if they wish to remain anonymous, they can call Crime Stoppers at (719) 634-STOP.
