A FLASH FLOOD WATCH will go into effect at NOON and last through MIDNIGHT from most of Southern Colorado. Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms will be more than capable of producing very heavy rain once again. Burn scars and areas that saw heavy rain yesterday will be under the greatest risk for flash flooding. The 11 Breaking Weather Team will be tracking this threat all day for you.
The number of people moving into Colorado is 0 slowing down.
Net migration is expected to total about 14,581 people this year. That's less than half the 32,228 measured last year.
It's also sharply down from the 84,742 people tallied in 1993. That's when Colorado's technology boom took off.
State demographer Jim Westkott says the declines mirror the state's economic slump.
Experts say the state's job picture has remained essentially flat after Colorado lost some 80-thousand jobs between the summers of 2001 and 2002.
Most economists believe a significant recovery is still six to 12 months away.
