Colorado Springs police are looking for a suspect they consider armed and dangerous following a lengthy search of a local neighborhood.

Commander Rick Millwright tells 11 News the incident began around 3:00 p.m. when narcotics officers working undercover began to think their suspects planned to rob them.

The suspects, two black men and one Hispanic man, drove away from the scene in what police believe was a stolen car. Officers tried to stop the men at Fountain Boulevard and Union Avenue. The suspects then led police on a brief chase, abandoning the car near Cucharras Street.

Police continued to search by foot, catching the Hispanic man using a canine team.

Another was found within the neighborhood near the street where the suspects left the car.

The third man remains at large, last seen wearing all red. Police followed him into an apartment complex, but lost him there.

He is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call police, or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
