Authorities say a man arrested in Colorado Springs is the same suspect from a string of pornography shop robberies in Denver. Witnesses say the suspect was riding in a gold Toyota sedan when Springs Police and US Marshals stopped it on Wahsatch and Uintah Tuesday evening. Authorities had followed the suspect and his female driver there from Denver. Witnesses including Andrew Osterman say police aimed weapons at the car before both suspects stepped outside and surrendered peacefully.
"The whole thing was pretty entertaining," said Osterman, "considering it's in front of my house where I don't expect to see fugitives taken down."
Police say the fugitive unit was investigating a series of robberies and related crimes including 3 adult bookstore robberies in Denver Saturday night. The robber fired a shot in one of the shops, though no shots were fired Tuesday.
