Middle East Violence Continues

The Israeli army says the blasts that rattled Beirut today were strikes on ten buildings housing members of Hezbollah.

The strongest of the assaults on southern Beirut were powerful enough to make car alarms shriek in central Beirut, several miles away.

Hezbollah says the Israeli assault on Lebanon has killed 27 Hezbollah fighters, most of them in the intensified ground fight near the border. Israel claims the militants are under reporting casualties and say Hezbollah deaths are more likely in the dozens.

Lebanon's health ministry says 375 civilians have been killed in the campaign.

Israel's prime minister, meanwhile, says his country has the stamina for "a long struggle."
