Most anglers dream about catching the big one but normally with a fishing pole.
A tow truck hooked a decent size catch in Quail Lake on the southwest side of Colorado Springs. It pulled up a red Chevy short bed pickup.
Colorado Springs police say Fort Carson soldier Dale Harris told them he blacked out behind the wheel, veering through a parking lot, down the bank into the shore, narrowly missing some people fishing on shore.
Witnesses tell 11 News he climbed out on top of his truck as it began to sink.
Joyce Ausborne watched the truck go into the water, she said, "he got on back of the truck then I guess he said this ain't gonna do, so he jumped in the water and swam to the shore!"
Police say the are waiting on a toxicology screen, but don't think alcohol was involved.
Harris was cited for driving with an expired license. He is otherwise OK.
