Colorado Springs courts are now offering child care. After a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday morning, Court Care for the Pikes Peak Region is officially open.

City officials toured the new non-profit corporation. It's located on Cascade in the Springs. They provide free child care for children whose parents or guardians have to appear in court, so the kids don't have to go. Officials also hope it willl keep courtrooms quieter, and more efficient.

Until now, El Paso County's District and Country Courts see an average of 100 children a day.
