An Air Force Academy cadet accused of assaulting a female cadet in his room has declared he is not a rapist.
Cadet Douglas Meester made a statement at Wednesday's Article 32 hearing -- where it is supposed to be decided whether he will be court-martialed on the charge.
He said he is not a perfect cadet or a perfect student, but he also is not a rapist.
Earlier the woman who accused him testified she had been drinking shots of tequila with him in his dorm room and she drifted in and out of consciousness as he attacked her.
An investigator says both the woman and Meester had blood-alcohol contents that were nearly double the level at which a motorist would be considered drunk.
The hearing was similar to a preliminary hearing in civilian court.
