(Durango-AP) -- High temperatures and shifting winds made for another tough day on the lines of an unpredictable blaze burning
north of Durango Tuesday.

The Durango fire has grown to nearly 67,000 acres and is only 30 percent contained.

Flames are threatening more than 1,100 homes Monday. That's down
from about 18-hundred earlier this week. The fire has already burned at least 45 homes.

Officials say hundreds of power poles were also damaged by the
blaze, cutting off electricity to more than 500 homes in evacuated areas.
